Tetbury Dolphins LTC - Social & Competitive Tennis in Tetbury, Gloucestershire
Every Sunday 10am-1pm
AND April-October: Tue & Thu 6pm-dusk

About Us

The club has a history dating back to c1970 and has ambitious plans for the future. Since our move to the Town we have established a partnership with Stephen Johnson who provide services for our growing coaching program.

Our aim is simple – to get as many people playing this great sport as often as we can. We have club sessions every Sunday morning and, from April to October, Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well. In addition club members are entitled to book courts for free at other times (there is a small visitors fee for non-members).

There are no “playing in” tests and no special dress codes – just low membership fees and a warm welcome. The club provides balls, access to the clubhouse, free court bookings, competitive and social playing and a chance to win Wimbledon tickets in our annual ballot. We even have a few spare rackets if you just want to turn up and try tennis for the first time.

Welcome

We are a small friendly club with a mixed membership, trying to offer enjoyable tennis of all standards. Club sessions are conducted in a social atmosphere and played on all-weather courts at Sir William Romney School in Tetbury.

In the summer, Club evenings are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 6.00 pm till dusk and on Sunday mornings from 10.00am till 1.00pm throughout the year. Junior and Adult coaching sessions are conducted by our LTA qualified coaching staff on Saturday afternoons and Monday evenings. In addition, members are at liberty to book courts for social tennis with other members free of charge on any evenings from 5.00 pm and all weekends during school term time and any time during school holidays. A nominal fee will apply for invited non-member guests.

We offer three FREE visits to the club to enable any prospective members to come along and join in the club sessions and meet the members with no obligation. For those of you who might feel a little tentative, Monday evenings in early season are designated “Rusty Racquets” allowing a gentle reintroduction to the game. For the more experienced player we enter a number of teams into the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire summer leagues playing in various divisions. We also enter teams into the local winter leagues for those wishing to continue competitive tennis throughout the year. All members are eligible for selection and we are always on the look-out for anyone who would enjoy the challenge.

During the summer we hold three in-house tournaments and a mid-summer barbeque all of which combine competitive tennis and an enjoyable social occasion. We usually finish the season with an evening event at a local hostelry.

The Club is affiliated to the LTA and as such is entitled to an allocation of a number of Wimbledon Tickets every year. All our members are invited to enter the ballot to receive a pair of ticket at face value if they wish.

The whole ethos of the club is to enjoy playing tennis in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
